Eugenia Ravasco (1845–1900)
Founding religious
Italian nun and founder of the Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, Eugenia Ravasco dedicated her heritage and energies to the Christian education of girls and young people.
Biography
Orphaned since she was little, her desire to do good for the love of the Heart of Jesus matured before the Eucharist. In Genoa she gathered collaborators, opened schools, oratories, workshops and houses for poor or at-risk girls. He also provided help during epidemics and social conflicts. The misunderstandings and economic difficulties did not stop a work that sought to form intelligence, will and faith. He died leaving his daughters the mandate to educate with firmness and tenderness.
