Alberto Adam Chmielowski (1845–1916)

Polish artist and religious, Alberto Chmielowski abandoned a promising career to share the lives of the homeless.
Biography
He had participated in the insurrection against tsarist rule and lost a leg after being wounded and captured. As a painter he sought to serve God through art, but ultimately discovered Christ disfigured in the poor of Krakow. He founded the Albertine Brothers and Sisters and lived in shelters with the homeless.
Practical advice
Look at a poor person today without prejudice and offer them help that fully respects their dignity.
