Alberto Marvelli, layman (1918–1946)

Engineer, leader of Catholic Action and Italian public servant, Alberto Marvelli showed that holiness can transform social life.
Biography
An athletic and cheerful young man, he chose as his personal program to become a saint. During World War II he helped the wounded, hungry and displaced by bicycle, and even opened wagons to free people destined for deportation. After the war he collaborated in the reconstruction of Rimini, defended the poor and participated in politics with competence and righteousness. He died at the age of twenty-eight, run over when he was on his way to an electoral meeting.
