Alice or Adelaide
Cistercian nun
(+1250) She was a nun at the Cistercian Abbey of La Cambre (Brussels, Belgium).
Biography
She fell ill with leprosy shortly after her profession and had to spend the rest of her life confined to a pavilion built at one end of the monastery. It was said that Our Lord came to see her frequently and had a familiar relationship with Him. She declared herself very happy despite the suffering derived from the illness and confinement. One day she asked the Lord to make her blind to avoid distractions and He granted it.
Practical advice
By collecting the heart in silence, it seeks to reconcile two people without increasing the conflict without seeking applause or recognition.
