Roman by birth, Ambrose was prefect of police in Milan, when he was elected bishop of this city (374).
Biography
He is one of the most well-drawn types of shepherd of souls. He energetically resists the usurpations of imperial power and at the same time dedicates himself to catechizing the people, commenting on the Holy Scriptures and spreading religious songs.

Trusting in God's grace, prepare well for a conversation in which you must guide someone, remembering that holiness is built in the ordinary.
