A German Augustinian nun, Ana Catherine Emmerick grew up in a peasant family and worked as a servant and seamstress before entering the convent.
Biography
After the suppression of her community she lived sick and almost immobile, offering her sufferings in prayer. He received mystical gifts that attracted many people, but he tried to remain humble and obedient. More important than his visions was his concrete charity: from his bed he continued to care for the poor and sick. His life teaches that fragility can become fruitful intercession.
