A Canadian religious of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Andrés Bessette was for decades a school janitor in Montreal.
Biography
Orphaned, sickly and almost illiterate, he seemed unsuited for great tasks; However, his simple faith and deep devotion to Saint Joseph brought comfort and hope to thousands of people. He visited the sick, listened to those who suffered and asked them to trust in God. Their efforts made possible the Oratory of San José del Monte Real, today a great sanctuary. He called himself a mere instrument in the hands of God.

Today he joyfully fulfills a humble task that normally goes unnoticed and entrusts Saint Joseph to those who suffer.
