Cardinal and archbishop of Milan, Andrés Carlos Ferrari was a pastor close to his people.
Biography
He repeatedly toured the parishes, strengthened catechesis and oratories, promoted schools, the Catholic press and the responsible participation of the laity in social life. During World War I it served the needs of soldiers and families. He endured painful misunderstandings and even an illness that took away his voice, without losing his meekness. His episcopal government showed that Christian authority is accredited by visiting, listening and serving.
