Andrew Corsini (1301–1374)

Carmelite and bishop of Fiesole, André Corsini went from a well-to-do youth to a life of prayer, penance and service.
Biography
As a priest he bravely cared for the sick during the plague of 1348. Elected bishop, he lived with austerity, visited parishes, took care of the training of the clergy and defended the poor and the freedom of the Church. The Holy See entrusted him with delicate peace missions, in which he sought to reconcile opposing groups. He died recognized as a firm and merciful shepherd.
