Andrew of Phú Yên, martyr (c. 1625–1644)

Young Vietnamese catechist, Andrés de Phú Yên is venerated as the protomartyr of the Church in Vietnam.
Biography
Baptized during adolescence, he joined the association of catechists called Casa de Dios and helped the missionaries announce the Gospel. He was arrested during a persecution and refused to abandon the faith or give up his church service. On July 26, 1644, when he was about nineteen years old, he gave his life invoking Jesus and exhorting Christians to remain faithful.
