Martyr
A Claretian missionary born in Catalonia, Andrés Solá was sent to Mexico shortly after his ordination.
Biography
He taught in the minor seminary, preached missions and ministered to communities in years of increasing religious persecution. Although he had to exercise his ministry with prudence, he never denied that he was a priest nor abandoned the faithful. He was arrested in León, Guanajuato, along with the priest José Trinidad Rangel and the layman Leonardo Pérez. The three were shot on April 25, 1927 for their fidelity to the Catholic faith.
