Angela de la Cruz (1846–1932)
Founding nun
Founder of the Sisters of the Company of the Cross, this humble Sevillian nun was known and loved in her city and in all the neighboring towns for her charity, her simplicity and her joy, virtues that she inherited from all her sisters.
Biography
They lived in the most absolute poverty, to be on par with those they helped. With one hand they asked for alms and with the other they distributed it to those who needed it most. With the Sisters of the Cross, resources and cleanliness reached each slum. When mother Ángela died, on her hard wooden platform, all of Seville, republicans and radicals included, attended her funeral and later the City Council changed the name of Alcázares street to Sor Ángela de la Cruz.
Practical advice
In the midst of your ordinary work, seek God in the most ordinary task of your day and begin again with humility if it doesn't go well.
