Anianus (1st century)
confessor of faith
He was a monotheistic shoemaker judging by the oaths he swore when things didn't go his way.
Biography
He did not blaspheme for Jupiter, Hercules and the immortal gods, but for “the great God of heaven.” This caught the attention of Saint Mark who had entered his workshop to have him repair a sandal. Having injured his thumb with his awl, Anianus swore in front of his client his usual oath. Mark healed his finger and then turned the conversation to “the great God in Heaven,” whom Jesus had come to reveal. This was the origin of the conversion of Anianus, who was the first Christian and first bishop of Alexandria.
Practical advice
As soon as you have the opportunity, listen patiently to a person before advising them with external order and internal recollection.
