Anton Durcovici (1888–1951)
Bishop
Bishop of Iași in Romania, Anton Durcovici trained seminarians and defended the freedom of the Church under the communist regime.
Biography
Imprisoned and deprived of food and attention, he died on December 10, 1951, supporting other prisoners. The Church recognized in his dedication a true martyrdom, lived with fidelity, hope and forgiveness.
