A Polish prince born in exile, Augustus Czartoryski was raised to assume dynastic responsibilities and represent the political hopes of his family.
Biography
However, he understood that God was calling him to another mission. Sick of tuberculosis and despite his father's opposition, he met Saint John Bosco, joined the Salesians and freely embraced poverty, common life and the priesthood. He died young, but with profound peace for having chosen his vocation without despising his family or allowing himself to be imprisoned by the expectations of others.
