Bartholomew, Apostle
martyr apostle
Bartholomew, also called Nathanael, was a native of Cana in Galilee.
Biography
Philip presents him to Jesus on the banks of the Jordan. He is part of the group of the twelve apostles. According to tradition, he preached the Gospel in Arabia and Armenia where he died a martyr. Jesus Christ says of him: “Here is an Israelite where there is no duplicity or deceit.” Hopefully we can also receive similar praise.
