Benedict Biscop (628–690)
Benedictine abbot
He was an Anglo-Saxon nobleman who at the age of twenty renounced the world to become a Benedictine in the south of France.
Biography
He was passionate about books, art and culture, and loved the liturgical chant of Saint Gregory, so he decided to settle in Rome. The Pope ordered that he return to Great Britain to consolidate the evangelizing work of Saint Augustine. There he founded several convents, always seeking the splendor of worship to contribute to the piety of his monks. He spent the last three years of his life immobilized by a cruel illness during which he was exemplary and patient.
Practical advice
Today, in the presence of God, seek to reconcile two people without increasing the conflict without leaving for tomorrow the good that you can do today.
