Bernardo Francisco de Hoyos, priest (1711–1735)

Spanish Jesuit and great apostle of the Sacred Heart, Bernardo Francisco de Hoyos dedicated his short life to spreading the personal love of Christ.
Biography
He entered the Society of Jesus before turning fifteen and advanced in prayer, study and spiritual direction. In 1733, upon learning of a work about the Heart of Jesus, he understood that he had to promote that devotion in Spain. He consecrated himself to the Sacred Heart, organized materials, letters, and preaching, and worked to establish his feast. He died of typhus a few months after being ordained a priest.
