Bertila (+710)
Abbess
Practical advice
As an offering to the Lord, teach a truth of faith with clarity and affection and start again with humility if it doesn't work out for you.
Biography
She was born in Soissons, France and was a nun in Jouarre, a dozen years ago, when Queen Batilde put her at the head of the monastery that she had founded in Chelles. Shortly after, Batilde, dethroned, was taken away and imprisoned for life in that monastery. Bertila survived her by thirty years and was abbess until her death.
