Bonifacia Rodríguez de Castro (1837–1905)

Spanish religious and worker, Bonifacia Rodríguez de Castro opened a path of holiness for working women inspired by the hidden life of the Holy Family.
Biography
Daughter of artisans from Salamanca, since she was a teenager she worked as a corder to support her family and experienced the harsh working conditions of her time. In his own workshop he gathered young people and, with the Jesuit Francisco Javier Butiñá, founded the Siervas de San José. Incomprehension and displacement within his own work did not extinguish his fidelity: he continued working, educating and serving with humility until death.
