Dutch Passionist and missionary in Ireland, Charles of Saint Andrew Houben became close to the people through his prayer, his compassion and his ministry of reconciliation.
Biography
He arrived in Dublin without mastering English, so he did not stand out as a preacher; However, he dedicated long hours to confessing, comforting the sick and blessing those who came to him. His reputation for holiness and intercessor grew in life, but he remained simple and obedient. He taught that a personal limitation does not prevent one from bearing much fruit when one puts oneself at the service of God.
Practical advice
Don't use a limitation as an excuse today: offer the service that you can provide and do it with all your heart.
