Catherine Cittadini (1801–1857)

Italian educator, Catalina Cittadini turned the wounds of an orphaned childhood into a vocation to educate and protect other girls.
Biography
Together with her sister Judit she worked as a teacher in Somasca, opening a school and taking in boarding students, especially those who lacked family support. After the death of his sister he supported the work in the midst of difficulties and founded the Ursulines of Somasca. He understood teaching as an integral mission: to transmit knowledge, faith, dignity and the ability to face life.
