Celestine I was Pope from 422 to 432.
Biography
During his pontificate he had several basilicas restored and built in Rome. He is remembered, above all, as a firm defender of the purity of faith against the heresies of Pelagius and Nestorius, publicly condemned at the Synod of Rome.
