Chiara “Luce” Badano (1971–1990)

A young Italian woman from the Focolare Movement, Chiara Badano lived her adolescence with friendship, sport, study and a determined love for Jesus.
Biography
Attentive to the poor and isolated companions, she sought to communicate the Gospel with her conduct. At the age of seventeen he was diagnosed with aggressive osteosarcoma. He received painful treatments without losing his joy and offered each suffering saying: "If you want it, Jesus, I want it too." He prepared his funeral as a party of encounter with God and donated his corneas. Chiara Lubich gave it the name “Luce” because of the clarity it transmitted.

Bring joy to a sick person today without denying their pain or treating them with pity.
