Clara Szczęsna (1863–1916)

A Polish nun, Clara Szczęsna rejected an imposed marriage and joined a clandestine congregation during the Russian persecution.

Biography

He taught the faith and accompanied poor workers even under police surveillance. Later she collaborated with Saint Joseph Sebastian Pelczar in the founding of the Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and was their first superior. She trained the sisters to care for servants, the sick, and young people in need. His discretion, strength and obedience made possible a work born in adverse conditions.
