Claudine Thévenet (1774–1837)
Founding religious
Claudina Thévenet saw two brothers die during the French Revolution and received one last request from them: forgiveness.
Biography
That experience turned her pain into compassion for abandoned girls and young women. With Father Andrés Coindre he founded the Congregation of Jesus-Mary, dedicated to educating and making known the goodness of God. He faced poverty, loss and uncertainty without letting resentment rule his life. His work was born from Christian forgiveness, which does not erase injustice, but prevents evil from having the last word.
