Claudio de la Colombière
Jesuit priest
Saint Claudius de la Colombière Born in Saint Simphorien Dózon, France, he entered the Society of Jesus at the age of seventeen and died of tuberculosis at the age of forty-one.
Biography
He was a great disseminator of devotion to the Sacred Heart. Until she arrived in Paray, no priest had taken the visions of Saint Margaret Mary seriously (October 16). Father de la Colombiére became the visionary's spiritual director. He realized the truthfulness of his testimony, and attested orally and in writing to the authenticity of his message. Father La Colombiére was beatified in 1929 and His Holiness John Paul II declared him a saint in 1992.
Practical advice
Today, in the presence of God, exercise authority as a service and not as a privilege, putting the result in God's hands.
