Founder of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Clelia Merloni chose “God alone” over a life of wealth and comfort.
Biography
After several attempts at religious life interrupted by illness, he started a community in Viareggio dedicated to education and works of charity. He used his inheritance to support the foundation, but disloyal administration led to debt, divisions, and his separation from the government. He endured slander and years of internal exile without resentment. He humbly returned to his congregation and offered everything for their unity.
