Founding Benedictine Abbess
Polish Benedictine nun and founder in Rome, Columba Gabriel transformed a painful expulsion from her monastery into a new mission among poor women.
Biography
A teacher and nun in Lviv, she became an abbess, but internal conflicts forced her to leave the community. After a period in Subiaco, she settled in Rome and worked with children and young workers exposed to exploitation. She founded the Benedictine Sisters of Charity and created family houses for their protection and training. He preserved the spirituality of Saint Benedict while learning to serve God in completely unforeseen circumstances.
