Cosme Spessotto (Sante) (1923–1980)
Martyr
Italian Franciscan and missionary in El Salvador, Cosma Spessotto preached justice, charity and reconciliation among peasants.
Biography
He refused to abandon his parish and was murdered on June 14, 1980 while praying next to the tabernacle. The Church recognized in his dedication a true martyrdom, lived with fidelity, hope and forgiveness.
