An Italian Capuchin brother, Crispín de Viterbo served for decades as a cook, nurse, gardener and almoner.
Biography
Orphaned since childhood and a shoemaker's apprentice, he entered religious life at the age of twenty-five. He toured towns asking for help for his community and for the poor, always with good humor, words of faith and a filial devotion to the Virgin. People from all walks of life sought his advice, but he remained simple and convinced that God's mercy sustains true joy.
