Christina of Bolsena

Biography

His martyrdom was at the beginning of the 4th century. Traditions say that he was born in Bolsena, an Italian city in Tuscany. Her father was a general who practiced the pagan faith and one day when he was traveling, Cristina entered a room in his house where gold and silver statues of pagan gods were kept and destroyed them to give them to the poor with the intention that they would sell them and make money from them. When her father arrived, he was filled with anger and ordered her to be flogged by his servants.
