Biography
Bishop Cruz Laplana and priest Fernando Español remained in Cuenca during the persecution. Arrested for their ministry, they were murdered on the night of August 7-8, 1936 after preparing themselves spiritually. The Church recognized in his dedication a true martyrdom, lived with fidelity, hope and forgiveness.
