David (6th century)
Monk
He is the patron saint of the Welsh, who honor him as the great apostle who converted their ancestors.
Biography
He died at Mnyw, Pembrokenshire, England, in one of the monasteries founded by him. Shortly before taking his last breath, he said to the monks around him: “Keep the faith, do not forget the little I taught you and always remain joyful.” Shakespeare speaks of this still popular saint in his Henry V.
