Demetrius Bassarabov (12th century)
Hermit
It is said of this hermit that when he died, due to his reputation for holiness, the reigning prince of Romania came from Budapest to take possession of his body.
Biography
This became so heavy that the float could not start. As it was evident that the humble Demetrius did not want to rest in the chapel of a palace, his body was placed on a cart pulled by an ox and he was allowed to go wherever he wanted. The ox headed towards the church of a poor village, which has since been called, like the saint, Bassarabov. His relics remained there until the Russo-Turkish War of 1774, when they were transferred to the Bucharest Cathedral.
Practical advice
In the midst of your ordinary work, make a visit to the Blessed Sacrament, even if it is brief, without seeking applause or recognition.
