Biography

A few years later, he retired to live a solitary life until requesting admission as a Benedictine monk. He was elected prior to the great satisfaction of all the monks, and he restored the monastery of San Sebastian de Silos, which now bears his name. He also turned the monastery into a focus of piety, art and culture. He worked many miracles and his relics became highly venerated.
