He entered the Order of Preachers under the direction of the Spanish bishop San Jerónimo Hermosillo and professed in the Dominican order in 1826.
Biography
During the persecution of Christians, he was arrested and ordered on two occasions to step on the Crucifix and the image of the Virgin. Not only did he not step on them, but he made his declaration of faith and kissed the image of the Virgin with filial devotion. He was sentenced to capital punishment and beheaded on August 1, 1838. John Paul II canonized him on June 19, 1988.
