Domingo Lentini (1770–1828)
Priest
An Italian priest from a peasant family, Domingo Lentini preached tirelessly to cultured and simple people, calling them to conversion.
Biography
He dedicated many hours to the confessional, trained young people and gave everything he owned to the poor. He suffered slander and went through times of political turmoil without turning away from his ministry. Pius XI described him as "a priest rich only from his priesthood." His strength was not in positions or assets, but in a life unified by the Eucharist, penance and pastoral charity.
