Dorothy Swartz (1347–1394)
Widow
This famous contemplative spent the thirty years of her married life in Dantzig, East Prussia (now Gdnask, Poland), after the Teutonic knights who had converted this country continued to exercise their power there.
Biography
Their marriage was exemplary; She had nine children, of whom only one survived, and when she grew up she became a Benedictine. When she became a widow, Dorothy imprisoned herself in a cell next to the Marienwerder cathedral. It was a square niche 2 meters by 3 meters high, pierced by three windows: one opened to the sky; another faced the altar; The third faced the cemetery and was used to pass food to him. In this type of tomb he received the innumerable heavenly communications that his confessors have transmitted to us.
Practical advice
Without seeking recognition, reserve ten minutes of silence to treat God as a friend with peace, perseverance and good humor.
