Biography
Saint Edgar was king of East Anglia for eighteen years. Among his merits are having freed his country from the wolves that infested it and never forcing his subjects to wage war. Among the so-called “Saint Edgar laws”, there is one that imposed a sentence of seven years in prison on adulterers and only three on murderers.
