Cistercian abbess
(1174-1243) Being Duchess of Silesia and Poland, she led an intense life of faith in her home.
Biography
After her husband died, she retired to Breslau, a Cistercian monastery, where her daughter was abbess. He had the enormous sorrow of seeing six of his seven children die. And shortly after her eldest son fell in combat against the Tartars, she also died.
Practical advice
With simplicity and joy, teach a truth of faith with clarity and affection, remembering that holiness is built in the ordinary.
