An Italian Franciscan born into a poor family, Egidio Maria de San José served for more than fifty years as an almoner at the convent of San Pascual in Naples.
Biography
He walked through streets and houses asking for help for those in need and distributing bread, comfort and words of faith. Although he carried out a humble job, he became a reference for the poor and noble for his simplicity, patience and trust in the Virgin. During times of hunger and illness he multiplied his efforts, convinced that no needy person should leave without hope.
