Elías Comini (1910–1944)
Salesian priest and martyr
Italian Salesian priest, teacher and spiritual guide of young people, he remained in Salvaro during the Second World War to care for displaced families and help the parish priest.
Biography
After a massacre perpetrated by the SS, he went with Father Martino Capelli to bring the sacraments to the wounded and dying. He was arrested and, even in captivity, continued to confess and console the prisoners. He was shot to death on October 1, 1944, after giving absolution to those who were going to be executed with him.
