Biography
A tremendous figure from the Old Testament, he was a farmer who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen when the prophet Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle over him, thus transmitting supernatural powers to him. Elisha immediately followed Elijah and witnessed him being caught up into heaven in a chariot of fire. This man, strong and unique, fought energetically against idolatry and sowed portentous signs of the power of God: he multiplied bread, healed a leper monarch and resurrected a child.
