Biography
Born in Palestine, he was a converted Jew. He was bishop of Salamis, in Cyprus, for twenty-seven years. Among his numerous writings, his Panarion (medicine book) remains indispensable for historians of the ancient Church. He also fought numerous heresies with his writings.
