Abbot
Everard, Duke of Friuli, was married to Gisela, daughter of Louis the Good and granddaughter of Charlemagne.
Biography
Due to the strategic location that his duchy occupied between the Adriatic and the Alps, he was one of the most important nobles in the Empire. He and his wife always lived Christian virtues in an exemplary way. They had seven children, four boys and three girls. Everard founded the abbey of Cysoing, which he bequeathed in his will to his son Adalard, who became abbot and was replaced upon his death by his brother Rudolph.
