Ezequiel Moreno y Díaz (1848–1906)

Augustinian Recollect bishop and Spanish missionary, Ezequiel Moreno zealously evangelized in the Philippines and Colombia and was a close shepherd in difficult times.
Biography
He entered the Augustinian Recollects as a young man, was ordained in Manila and for fifteen years attended parishes and Philippine missions. In 1888 he arrived in Colombia to restore the presence of his Order and work in mission territories. He was apostolic vicar of Casanare and later bishop of Pasto, where he promoted catechesis, vocations and the defense of the faith. Sick with cancer, he accepted long pains with fortitude and died in Monteagudo, Spain.
