Faustino Míguez (1831–1925)
Founding priest
Spanish Piarist, priest, teacher and student of the medicinal properties of plants, Faustino Míguez dedicated more than fifty years to education.
Biography
She observed that many girls lacked access to a decent education and founded the Calasancio Daughters of the Divina Pastora Institute to serve them. He taught science with rigor, exercised spiritual direction and sought remedies to alleviate illnesses, without separating faith, reason and service. For him, the school was a place of encounter with Christ present in the students. His long life was a patient investment in the future of young people.
