Biography
He was appointed bishop of Utrecht, Holland by Emperor Louis the Good-natured, son of Charlemagne. It is thought that while he was praying in his cathedral, Frederick was murdered by order of Empress Judith, Louis's wife, upset that the bishop had reproached him for his waste. Saint Frederick had the charity to forgive his murderers before dying and to encourage them to escape so that they would not be captured.
