Frederick Bachstein and thirteen Franciscans from various nations lived in the convent of St.
Biography
Mary of the Snows in Prague. They served through preaching, sacraments and welcoming the poor in a time of serious religious divisions. On February 15, 1611, a mob attacked the convent and murdered them out of hatred for the faith. The diversity of languages and backgrounds did not prevent them from forming a united community. His martyrdom reminds us that Christian fraternity can rebuild the Church in the midst of political and confessional conflicts.
